I'm a big shot movie director in Hollywood, my main responsibility is coming up with catchy movie titles based on a short summary of the movie. I'd like to offer my services in coming up with a snazzy title for this flick. How about "Stuntmen: Stuntman: the Stuntmannening: I stunt, you stunt, we all Stuntman for Stuntmen." Thank you, but please hold your applause. A bill will be in the mail shortly. I do accept payment in bitcoin.

Do better in school. Learn all I could about finances. Not wait until college to lose my virginity. Save as much money as I could to buy Bitcoins and stock. Sell the Bitcoins at their peak and reinvest a good bit of that into treasury bonds because stability. More sex.

I would be halfway across the world with no way to contact any Americans. I'll invest in google and facebook when they come out. And mine some bitcoin later.

Thank you, but I've already done that for myself :) I'm not scared of banks, I simply don't trust them. To give you an example of a plan I had in mind, I'd open an account and buy some stock or whatever. Anything earned would be directly deposited into my existing savings account, or into Bitcoin as needed. I just have no idea how to get started in the world of investing :(

I own a handful of Bitcoin, I always like it the premise and wanted to be apart of it.

You discount theory isn't great though. They are removing a 3-6% processing fee from credit cards and gaining a 1-2% processing fee for Bitcoin, plus the added headache of what to do with them and as you said the volatile exchange rate. It just doesn't make sense to offer a 10% discount on Bitcoin unless you expect the Bitcoin you get to go up in value.

I got really stoned on hash one night a few years ago and lost like $3k in Bitcoin on some shitty gambling site. sank into a depression, during which this documentary and the Philip Seymore Hoffman movie Owning Mahowny (great movie about gambling addiction) helped me get a grip on what I'd done and what I need to do to avoid any harmful gambling behavior in the future. I guess my point is that I'm grateful to Theroux for crystallizing something that I was beating myself up about during a rough time, that I could finally get over my mental slump. I don't gamble any more

Escrow transactions can be done with Bitcoin to address this, though I'm not sure how easy those are right now. That adds another party to the transaction who will want a cut, though.

I buy things with Bitcoin sometimes (recently bought some delicious beef jerky), but I am a hell of a lot more careful about what businesses I'll deal with vs a credit card. With a credit card I can be pretty confident that if something goes wrong, someone will make me whole.

I'm surprised more businesses don't offer discounts for paying in Bitcoin, considering that their processing costs are much lower and they don't have fraud risk on those transactions. I guess they have volatility (exchange rate) risk with Bitcoin, though.

Well as said, I don't think it will arise as a seperate society. It will simply emerge from within. Agorists are already less intertwined with the government, and it will just become better and better with technology. As said, Bitcoin is a good example.
