For all your scam identification needs.

Online or offline, email or postal. If you know of or encounter a scam then this is the place to let people know about it, maybe even get some help from others who have dealt with it before.

Given the nature of this subreddit you should treat any external links as suspect.

  • External links (links other than imagehost links) should be posted as a self post.
  • Please use archive.is, archive.org, unvis.it, or another archival site instead of posting the direct link.
  • If you are posting an article, please copy and paste a few relevant paragraphs along with the link.

If you're posting about another redditor then please consider using /r/badkarma instead.

Please note: Posting of personal information, aka "doxxing", is against site-wide reddit rules, which will be enforced by removal of the post/comment and a ban. That's if we mods get to it first though, if the admins do it'll probably mean a ban from all of reddit. Something to bear in mind when posting information about a private individual.

Block out email addresses, phone numbers, usernames, and last names or your post will be removed. Company information will be handled on a case by case basis.

If you want to take down a scammer, please check out /r/scamslayers or /r/scambait.

If you see something that shouldn't be here, please report it or send us a modmail so we can take a look. Thank you!

tl;dr, don't start witch hunts.
