NoSleep is a place to share your original scary story. The purpose of this sub-reddit is to share stories with and scare the crap out of each other. This is not a place for you to practice your writing skills, or to post creepypasta. Remember, everything is true on NoSleep.
Posting Guidelines:

Only post if your submission is your original story. Questions about the subreddit, irrelevant posts, troll/joke posts, creepypasta, and posts consisting solely of an image, video, or link will be removed. Meta-posts are not allowed. If you have a concern about the subreddit, please bring this up to the moderators via mod mail or on /r/NoSleepOOC.

Your story should be believable within reason. Posts that are not believable will be removed at moderator discretion. Stories in which the narrator dies are not considered believable and are not appropriate for /r/nosleep.

Everything is true here, even if it's not. You don't need to put any variation of "this is 100% true" in your title or your story.

Please do not comment out of character on your post.

Please do not put tags in your title. Tags are anything in brackets or parenthesis that does not reference part of your story. Titling it "Scary story [part one]" is OK, but "Scary Story [TRUE]" is not.

tl;dr: is not allowed. Writers, do not include them. Readers, do not ask for them.

Stories with graphic content should be marked with the 'Trigger Warning' or 'NSFW' option. Appropriate flair is also available to choose from.

Multi-part stories should include links to the first and next parts in their bodies, and a mention of multiple parts in the title. They should be marked with the "Series" flair (see here)

This is not a writing workshop. Do not criticize anyone's writing skills here.

Comments should contribute to the discussion. GIFs, jokes, and comments saying "Nope," "All aboard the nopetrain," "Then who was phone," and variations of those phrases will be removed at moderator discretion.
About the "Everything is True" rule:
r/nosleep is a place for you to go and read campfire-style scary stories written by fellow redditors. Stories should be believable, but realistic fiction is permitted. Readers are to assume everything is true and treat it as such as far as commenting is concerned. These stories are here for your entertainment. If a story is too unbelievable, please report it for mod review.
Any violation of these rules will be met with appropriate discipline.
