What is social anxiety?
"Social anxiety is the fear of social situations that involve interaction with other people. You could say social anxiety is the fear and anxiety of being negatively judged and evaluated by other people. It is a pervasive disorder and causes anxiety and fear in most all areas of a person's life. It is chronic because it does not go away on its own." - From socialphobia.org
"Social anxiety is the fear of interaction with other people that brings on self-consciousness, feelings of being negatively judged and evaluated, and, as a result, leads to avoidance.
Social anxiety is the fear of being judged and evaluated negatively by other people, leading to feelings of inadequacy, inferiority, embarrassment, humiliation, and depression.
If a person usually becomes (irrationally) anxious in social situations, but seems better when they are alone, then "social anxiety" may be the problem." - From socialanxietyinstitute.org

See a post or comment breaking the rules? Please hit "report" instead of replying, thanks!
Rule 1: Posts must be directly related to social anxiety. Video posts should be clearly about social anxiety or an explanation must be included about why you think it has to do with social anxiety.
Rule 2: Play nice. Remember the human, don't be intentionally rude, start a flame war, insult others, or troll. No sexism, homophobia, transphobia, racism, etc. These will result in your comment being removed and possibly a ban depending on severity. No "incel-like" behaviour, pro-rape, or general sexist views. Users reported of sending creepy / threatening PMs will be banned immediately and reported to the Reddit admins.
Rule 3: No posts about personal Kik / Discord / Whatsapp groups. We cannot moderate every single chat that is linked and verify that it is fair. Join the official r/SocialAnxiety discord here.
Rule 4: Personal views and beliefs Posts linking to /r/nofap or other "miracle anxiety solving" subreddits or websites may be removed. Users constantly linking them in the comments may be banned. Religion is not an answer to everyone - if a poster mentions they are another religion to you or atheist then respect their view. Constant commenting like "have you considered finding God?" may result in a ban. No posts encouraging drug/alcohol use to minors. Comments may be removed and users may be banned.
Rule 5: No self-promo Self-promoting or trying for financial gain is a pretty low thing to do anyway on reddit, but in sensitive communities such as this it's even worse. Self-promoting your paid book / paid app / paid therapy services will result in an instant ban. Free / ad-supported apps or ebooks will result in a warning and constant self-promotion a ban. Personal blogs will be removed. YouTube channels are OK as long as the content meets these rules and the videos are relevant. Users posting surveys must consult the mods first - they must not ask for personal information and be on an approved website such as Strawpoll or Google Forms.
Rule 6: No personal info: No links to personal facebook / twitter / instagram / etc. Doxxing will get you banned and reported to the reddit admins.
