There are only a couple rules for this subreddit:
Rule #1: The video must be a type of video that provides use for anyone who watches it. Some examples of this are:
- Life Pro Tip videos or Life Hacker videos
- Reviews of consumer products
- How to and DIY videos
- General education (i.e science, math, history, etc...)
There are other videos that could qualify as well, those are just some suggestions to help in your decision making. It is up to the moderators to decide if a post does not meet the principals of the sub.
Rule #2: Video length is less of a rule and more of a request. If you can put videos between 1-5 mins that would be ideal. 6-10 mins is still ok. 10+ would be pushing it. Remember us Redditors have short attention spans, make it count.
Rule #3: If you think your video was caught in the filter message a moderator. If you feel your video was unfairly pulled message the moderator and state your case.
Rule #4: If the video is your own work and you want to promote it that is 100% fine. All we ask is that you don't abuse the privilege. If we start to see that the ONLY vids you post are your own, we may have an issue. But if you contribute we see no problem in letting you promote your own videos as well.
Other than that, have fun everyone.
